Description

Barristers don’t have the protection of an 8 hour working day; we work as and when we have to. Late nights, early mornings, disturbed sleep and over thinking, can remove the ability to develop a regular sleeping pattern, resulting in insomnia.

Difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep for long enough to feel refreshed the next morning is a common problem thought to regularly affect around one in every three people in the UK. Occasional episodes of insomnia may come and go without causing any serious problems, but for some people it can last for months or even years at a time. Persistent insomnia has a significant impact on quality of life and health. There are no official guidelines about how much sleep we need each night, what is important is whether you feel you get enough sleep, and that sleep is good quality.

This workshop is designed to identify your sleep issue, and to give you a sleep strategy to help improve the quality of your sleep. By combining movement, mind and breath work, concentrating on the chakra energy points, enhanced and supported by essential oils this evening workshop will give you the tools to know: -

How to stop a busy mind so thinking doesn't keep you awake.

How to fall asleep easily and how to create your own sleep ritual.

How to stay asleep and enjoy uninterrupted, restful sleep through the night.

The 3am Sleep breaker - what to do to help your body get back to sleep

How to wake rested energized and ready for a great day ahead.

The workshop will begin with a discussion, and coaching tips for a better nights sleep.

Then move into a gentle breath-initiated movement sequence, which will focus on postures to release the mind and body from long- held tensions that impede our ability to relax and sleep well.

The final section of the workshop will focus on floor postures and will finish with yoga nidra,

Essential oils to aid restful sleep and to assist in rebalancing the body and mind will be used during the sequences and throughout the Nidra

Please wear comfortable clothing, part of the workshop will require you to lie down, but the movement sequence will be adapted to ensure everyone can participate.

If you have a yoga mat, and props you are welcome to bring them.
